Floral Design Workshop – Mass Design & Technique
The Workshop will follow one hour after our membership meeting. Please bring a bag lunch and beverage to enjoy at the Vineyard before it begins.
“How do I enter a Flower Show? A Bench Show? Where do I begin?!”
“I don’t understand why one design wins a first place and another, far prettier, doesn’t?”
“How do they manipulate flowers to do that?!”
These and all your other questions will be answered in the hands-on-workshop on September 15. This is for the novice as well as an experienced arranger – you can always learn something!
We will touch upon the basic Principles and Elements of design, purchasing and conditioning flowers and plant material.
We will explain how you enter the upcoming Bench Shows.
Bring with you a pumpkin or gourd of your choice with the center hollowed out and a glass jar or plastic container inserted, which will be the water source for your design (recycled food containers are ideal). The size of the plastic container will depend on the size of your pumpkin or gourd. Once hollowed out, keep the pumpkin/gourd covered in the refrigerator. Choose one that would work for a table centerpiece, hall table, or kitchen counter.
Bring your favorite clippers or scissors – other tools if you have them. Flowers will be supplied. If you have interesting berried branches or greens in your gardens, bring some.
We are looking forward to working with you! This will be fun, relaxed and creative.
